Keeping it real, somewhat traditional Irish style, Tyrell draws material from all quadrants, makes it his own and serves up a special, contemporary folk set. Recorded in his living room in a somewhat spare setting with a few cohorts that really know their stuff, don't come looking here for dingly-dingly music. At times, this gets as raw as Johnny Cash singing Nine Inch Nails. Now on his sixth album, this is clearly a folkie you've got to get to know if you haven't already. Killer stuff---and not just in reference to the murder ballads.
